Linda Shevel

“The beauty of a person emerges when they are comfortable, natural, and true to self. The beauty in clothing arrives the same way.  Working with fibers, threads and yarn, I weave, knit & sew garments that are unforced, pleasant and enjoyable to wear.

I let fibers and fabrics speak to me.

Weaving in the Saori style of free expression, cloth is made by doing only what humans can do, and each piece is unique and beautiful in its own way. Saori style garments are made by letting the cloth become what it will be.

In contrast to the spontaneity of the weaving, knitted garments follow exacting rules. Creating intricate lace, textured cables and using luxurious yarn, I also hand knit exquisite garments. Many of the yarns and threads used in the knitting and weaving are hand-dyed and hand-spun.

A wardrobe should be full of art, expressive, comforting, personal, beautiful, and wearable.”
