Shirsty Cat is passionate about fiber arts, and knows you are too. They love creating beautiful, bright, and unique colorways and hope they will inspire your beautiful and unique creations. Their goal is to make art that you can use to create your beautiful works of art. That is why all of their vibrant colorways are always 100% hand dyed, so that their passion for the fiber arts will be in every yard of yarn, just as your passion goes into every stitch.
Kelly will be bringing her yarns, fibers and a few fiber tools too for a fabulous trunk show you won't want to miss.
The bonus of the day will be Kelly's steeking class! If you've been afraid to take scissors to your lovely hand knitting, this is just what you need. There'll be a little homework to prepare for the steeking. Knit Kelly's, Trieste Cardigan, you can find it through Ravelry, and purchase through Interweave Press online.
Sample can be knit in the round on any weight yarn with any gauge the student prefers, but for ease of working with the sample I would recommend that it at least be 4x4 inches when laid flat. Wool or wool blends are optimal.
The class will include good practices for cutting, how to incorporate steeking into a previously written pattern, and finishing techniques
Materials needed: Swatch knit in the round measuring 4x4 or larger, a piece of cardboard that will fit inside the swatch, darning needle, waste yarn in a contrasting color, extra yarn from the sample for finishing
Class is from 3 - 5 or 6 o'clock , $35.00
